Wow! I find it hard to believe another year has gone by. It seems this one really went fast. I recall writing an entry not too long ago called Good Bye 2007 what seems like just a few weeks ago. I suppose time goes fast when you are having fun.
2008 has been an unbelievable year in more ways than one. There have been awesome parts such as electing the first black president, and there have been tough times, such as the economic and oil problems. Personally, I think 2008 should be a net gain for everyone in the long run. It seems that there is a lot of motivation to make America the kind of country that you can be proud of. It's possible that there is extra energy out there because it is election year, but no matter what way you slice it, I am sure it is positive.
In 2008:
- had my 3 year anniversary being married.
- my awesome cat Felix, turned 10.
- moved out of the city, Into the desert.
- went to Europe for the 3rd time.
- went to Burning Man for the 3rd time, complete with neon hair and a camp 100+ people strong.
- went to San Diego decompression for the 3rd time.
- tried to go to San Francisco decompression, but was distracted by Angel Island burning.
- went to Coos Bay, Oregon, to ride the Dunes.
- went to Phoenix Santarchy with another 150 santas.
- went to Salt Lake City, Utah for an awesome wedding.
- re-immersed myself in the sport of dirt biking and motocross after a 6-7 year hiatus.
- sold a foreign suv, and bought an american truck.
- somehow developed a taste for cheap american bear.
- became a daily mac user again.
- continue to hold the same job for over 2 years now, and still enjoy it.
- hired 2 new people to work for us.
- work primarily on ruby/rails applications now.
Needless to say, I feel victorious. I am blessed with an awesome family, and we have all had good health for the most part. 2009 is about 24 hours away, and I look forward the challenges and adventures it is sure to bring!
Happy New Years!
