While driving up the 15 (through batcountry, ca-caaw!) the other day home I had a weird experience, my first snow storm in LA! While I am no newbie to snow, I have never experienced it in southern california.

Los Angles is very much home to me, but it was not always this way. I moved to LA from the greater Seattle area (olympia to be exact) about six years ago now. Although I have not always called it home, I most certainly do now.
Los Angles has a very "grinding" feeling about it. There is so many different kinds of people going so many different directions, it can be very overwhelming. I personally know of more people that have come here, and moved away, than came here and decided to stay. There are countless challenges that the city provides, but somehow encompassed in the thick mess lies the inner beauty of the city. This probably sounds like a bunch of jibber jabber, but once you have survived a few years here in the city of angeles, I am sure you know what I am talking about. It's those endless hours that you are stuck in traffic, the ridiculous amount of construction everywhere, being in the wrong place at the right time, or being at the right place in the wrong time. All of these seem like daily occurrences for most people I know.
Los Angles continues to educate me quite a bit. It has taught me the phrase "C'est la vie", which in french means "that's life", and I find myself using that phrase quite a bit. I certainly have become much more of a participant, and less of a spectator in this city. I am not sure how much longer I will stay, but one thing is for sure, it will be hard to ever leave.
